This session will demonstrate multiple before and after examples, where you can learn how animation can be used to explain complex ideas and create valuable learning content. You will learn how to use animation with purpose to provide meaning to your learning content. You will learn how to elevate your eLearning content through the use of animation.

Conducting surveys is not enough, in order to get the most out of your information, you need to be able to analyze and interpret the results.

In this webinar, we will show you how to make sense of quantitative data, from looking at the answers and survey goals, to crunching the numbers and drawing conclusions.

Feel the Love from Your Students: Brightspace Tools for Increasing End-of-Course Student Ratings

Many campuses have moved entirely or partially to electronic survey instruments for end-of-course student ratings of teaching effectiveness. Because online surveys don’t provide the “captive audience” of the old pencil-and-bubble-sheet days, response rates on eSurveys are often lower than when we used paper. This webinar will share four specific tactics that are proven to increase the response rates on electronic end-of-semester e-surveys. We will also shatter myths about four common practices that do not help response rates at all.

Participants in this webinar will learn how to apply four techniques to increase the response rates on e-survey student ratings of teaching effectiveness.

After attending the webinar, participants will be able to

    • identify four common e-survey strategies that do not actually help to increase response rates,
    • implement four specific strategies that do increase e-survey response rates, and
    • apply survey-lifecycle techniques using Brightspace tools to help e-survey adoption rates.

    Topics to cover:

    • Why are learners easily glued to moving stories?
    • What part of the story is so compelling that learners must respond?
    • How do you select the hyper-story as the important lesson?
    • How does one apply the 3-Step Hyper-Story Lesson Creation process?

2017 Survey of College and University Chief Academic Officers

Inside Higher Ed’s sixth annual Survey of College and University Chief Academic Officers (CAOs) reveals how these leaders perceive and deal with the challenges facing higher education institutions in the U.S.

The following are some of the questions the study addresses:

    • How do CAOs perceive institutional efforts to increase minority faculty hiring?
    • How do provosts/CAOs assess the “academic health” of their institutions?
    • How do CAOs assess the state of liberal arts education and its future?
    • Have CAOs seen improvements in their institution’s financial outlook?
    • What do provosts/CAOs think of “trigger warnings” alerting students to potentially sensitive content in course assignment

Understanding & Implementing an Education Content Strategy

The world of content is complex and rapidly evolving.  From varying types of content, to varying modalities of delivery of that content, institutions are struggling to understand the content universe and the opportunities, obstacles, management and regulation of it.  Schools are exploring Open Educational Resources (OER), digital or “all-in” models and do not have a comprehensive strategy or a unified approach to implementing affordable digital solutions at scale.

Institutions interested in affordability also struggle with faculty openness to adopting new materials and may not be aware of all options that are available to save students money while also improving efficacy.

    This conversation will help institutions:
